I. Restore the Mill Pond

Relocating tons of sediment that have come to rest in the pond. The removal of this will create a more sustainable spring-fed pond that can support a wide range of bio-diversity such as thicker ice for a prolonged period of recreational ice skating.

Built in the mid 1930's of post and beam construction by the W.P.A. with locally quarried limestone. Future plans include: Roof & gutter replacement, new windows, new heating and electrical systems, updated restrooms, handicap access, planters, tables with umbrellas and repairing the limestone.

 III. Family Oriented Events

The Friends of the Mill Pond offer numerous family oriented activities. Our Fishing Clinic for young children in April; Strawberry Fest in June; Great Duck Race in July (sponsor a racing duck and win prizes); Oktoberfest with fun, beer & dancing; Decorating the historic Warming House for the Christmas holidays.  IV. Birdhouses

Own a waterfront house!!! Wood Ducks, Wrens, Purple Martins; are just some of the birds we would like to attract more of. The Oak Creek valley is home to many different birds. We can make them feel more welcome by providing housing.

VII. Old-fashioned Footbridge

A well designed yet historically appropriate footbridge will provide access across the Mill Pond, offer a closer view of birds and waterfowl and add charm to this distinctive environmental setting.
