Our Warming House was built in the mid 1930's of post and beam construction by the W.P.A. with locally quarried limestone.  The Roof and Gutter Replacement Project was completed in 2008.  Future plans include installation of new windows, a new heating and electrical system, updated restrooms, handicap access, planters, tables with umbrellas and repairing the limestone

THE FRIENDS OF THE MILL POND & OAK CREEK WATERCOURSE, INC.  offer numerous family oriented activities.  Our Kids Fishing Clinic for young children is held in April; the Strawberry Fest in June;  Music in the Park (Organized by Milwaukee County);  the Great Duck Race in July (sponsor a racing duck and win prizes);  and Oktoberfest with fun, beer & dancing.  Decorating the historic Warming House for the Christmas holidays is always a special event that is appreciated by many in the community.  Go to our Calendar of Events page to find out what is coming up!

Wood Ducks, Wrens and Purple Martins are just some of the birds we would like to attract more of.  The Oak Creek valley is home to many different birds.  We can make them feel more welcome by providing housing.

A well designed yet historically appropriate footbridge will provide access across the Mill Pond and offer a closer view of birds and waterfowl, and add charm to this distinctive environmental setting.

We intend to relocate tons of sediment that have come to rest in the pond. By doing this, we will create a more sustainable spring-fed pond that can support a wide range of bio-diversity such as thicker ice for a prolonged period of recreational ice skating, and a possible picnic area that can be used to enjoy the beauty an peacefulness that the Mill Pond offers.
