2009 BOYS & GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY NEWS


The Rockets competed in the Waukesha South Invitational on Saturday, September 12.

Girls Varsity Team Scores:   Muskego - 48, Sun Prairie - 57, So. Milw. - 70, Kettle Moraine - 109, Burlington - 111, Waukesha South -168, Shoreland Lutheran - 185, Palmyra-Eagle - 238, The Prairie School - 254, University School - 254.

Girls JV Team Scores:  Muskego - 23, Kettle Moraine - 50, Sun Prairie - 80, Burlington - 112, So. Milw. - 156, Waukesha South - 164, Shoreland Lutheran - 178.

The girls competed very well.  This is a very hilly course so the times were slower than last week.  However, every team member ran faster this year than they did last year.   We need to close the time between our first runner and our fifth runner.  If we can get that time under 60 secs., we will be able to move up in the team standings.  The results from the Rocket Invitational next Saturday we gvie us a very good indication of how strong our team is.

Boys Varsity Team Scores:  Sun Prairie - 49, The Prairie School - 72, Kettle Moraine - 75, Waukesha South - 129, Catholic Memorial - 148, Brookfield Academy - 156, Tosa West - 182, So. Milw. - 184, Burlington - 209, Shoreland Lutheran - 262, DASH - 321, Palmyra-Eagle - 321.

Boys JV Team Scores:  Kettle Moraine - 28, Sun Prairie - 44, Catholic Memorial - 105, The Prairie School - 107, Waukesha South - 143, Burlington - 144, So. Milw. - 172, Brookfield Academy - inc., Tosa West - inc., Shoreland Lutheran - inc.

The boys also competed well.  Right now they are not as strong a team as the girls.  It will take several meets for some of our younger athletes to get into racing shape.  The good thing about this meet is that all the returning team members ran faster than they did last year at this meet.
