Hello everyone!
My wife and I are expecting our first baby! That is
most exciting news in my life. He
should be arriving at the end of April, 2003. Its been great this past year to be able to talk with many of
you and to see what you have been up to since high school.
It is amazing to find out all of the interesting things people are doing
with their life and in a lot of cases, hearing about their families.
Besides calling all of you and your parents and trying to get
addresses for the class reunion over the last year, I’ve been keeping busy
with other things. I still love to
stay active when possible.
I play in a couple of different flag football leagues for Motorola, and
my wife Jodi and I play volleyball year round, and we both play tennis when the
weather permits. In 1998 I ran the
Chicago Triathlon and Chicago Marathon, haven’t been crazy enough, and in good
enough shape, to try running them again. (Mostly
the good enough shape part, I’ve been slacking and life is getting waaay too
busy.)
We currently live in Mundelein, IL about 15 minutes
southwest of Great America. I’ve
been working at Motorola for the last 5 years, two years as a cellular test
engineer, one year as a hardware logic engineer working on design and support of
the StarTac cell phone, and two years as a software engineer.
I graduated from Madison in Dec ’97 with a B.S. in Electrical
Engineering, this last summer I got a M.S. in Telecommunications from DePaul
University. Jodi, has a B.S. in
Finance and Human Resources from UW--Eau Claire.
She worked for Accenture for 3 years and now works for AllState as a
program manager in the countrywide compliance group.
My last year in college I met Jodi at my part time job in Madison, while
she was there on an internship at Marquip. Six
months after we first started working together we began dating, and another two
and half years later we got married.
We’ve traveled a little over the last few years.
We’ve been to Hawaii, Florida, Puerto Vallerta Mexico, and this last fall we
went to Germany, and Italy. (Our
last hurrah as a couple before starting our family!)
I still hang out with a few people from high school. Ron Davitz, Kendo Ivy, and from the class of ’94 Cory Carlson... Deano has been MIA in Nebraska the last couple of years. In the later college years I played summer baseball with Dean Prodzinski, Steve Helgren ’94, Dan Havey ’95, Bob Moss ’95. (Bob, my roomie for a year when I first became a F.I.B. Friendly Illinois Buddy.) I see most of those guys every once in a while, those baseball teams were nothing but fun! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up on what people have been up to. Maybe I'll be able to hook up with some of you after a Badger football game later this year, or any year. I have season tickets, and would love to catch up with some of you if you'll be there. I miss hanging out and talking to many of you. I hope life has been treating each of you well.
